www.shabbyapple.com

I stumbled onto this website and have fallen, absolutely fallen, in love. The absolute cutest dresses and accessories for all sizes. Stuff for me, stuff for the girls. A return to what dresses were always meant to be — a one-piece outfit. No need to add anything...no tank tops, no cardigans, nothing (except accessories, of course!). Now if only I can muster the courage to buy clothing online - or maybe I will have a trunk show. The Sabrina dress, which is on sale, is going on my wish list.

Yummy!

White Chocolate Raspberry Krispie Deep Dish Pizza I was searching for cake ideas for Karigans first birthday. And, my oh my, look what I found. I think this is destined to become a Fourth of July favorite. Get the recipe at http://www.cakespy.com/2008/01/dessert-oasis-fantastical-desserts-and.html

Ceiling Fans - Just in Time

Mark installed new ceiling fans in the bedrooms upstairs, and just in time. I have a 90 degree rule. The AC doesn't come on until the outside temperature reaches 90 degrees. Warm weather has come a little early this year - yippee! 86 yesterday, 84 today. Thankfully, the breezes have been plentiful. The girls even took a nap outside today - now that would have been a picture.

Gerry Dee

So Mark and I had "date night" last Friday night. It was our first date night out (because we have a lot in) since probably our anniversary that didn't have an agenda to be accomplished while we were gone. But Grandma's wrist was (and is) still bothering her, so we didn't want to be out too long. We thought that we could squeeze dinner or a movie in, but not both. So we drove up to Easton, our little imaginary village (for you okies - it is much like Utica Square only bigger.) We parked in the West Garage, which we never do, still indecisive about what we would do or where we would go. As we walked in, the marquis at The Funny Bone broadcasted Gerry Dee. For those of you who don't know, he placed third on last seasons Last Comic Standing, though he was the first place pick in our house. Spontaneity kicked in, and Mark and I went to the Funny Bone. We had dinner, a lot of laughs, and one heck of a great time.

Jillians Haircut

The other day Jillian asked me if she could get her hair cut. I shrugged her request off because she has never had her hair cut before and when I always mentioned it, she would cry and say no it will hurt. What child likes to be "cut" anywhere? So now we use the word trim. But this time she wanted her hair cut, and not just a little bit. The next day she asked again. Meme and Poppy were in town and I didn't want to be the bad guy by saying no. So, the most honorable thing to do was to pass the buck. I told Jillian she would have to ask Daddy. She insisted on calling him right then and there. I just knew Mark would veto the idea right away. To my ultimate surprise, he said "sure Jillie, I think it would be great if you got your hair cut." So on to Cookie Cutters we went. She donated her hair to Locks of Love and took great pride in knowing that another little girl somewhere will wear her hair. When her hair was styled and ready to go, she asked "Mommy are you disappointed?" UGH! Fighting back the emotion, I then explained that Mommy isn't disappointed, I will just miss your curls. She proudly declared that her curls will grow back and then she can give another little girl her hair.

In the Beginning

Jenn had a dream that she could keep in touch with friends and family across the world without the hustle to Walgreens for picture reprints, the scurry to find the right sized envelope, or the excavation of change to buy postage - only for the pictures to be bent once they arrived anyway. Hello Blogspot. So here goes. Stay tuned and check back often. I definitely have a lot of catching up to do.
